New favorite cleaning tool

I am all about efficiency and ways to do tasks better and faster. This especially applies to housework these days! It’s a necessary duty, but I don’t exactly want to spend all my time doing it. That’s why I love when I find new tools to make the job easier. My latest find is microfiber cloths. You can find them everywhere in various forms. I found my first microfiber cloths in my Melaleuca catalog. They were smaller and thin for use on windows and glass. I bought them to try on my glass dinette table that we eat on daily (and do crafts and art and homework and snack…). I was so tired of doing through rolls of paper towels and using a separate dish cloths to scrub any big messes. The microfiber cloths worked great! I can scrub with them and use them with a little glass cleaner and get the table and windows streak free! Then, all I have to do is wash them out, hang them to dry and use them over and over!
Since then, I have purchased microfiber dishcloths and WalMart, the microfiber Royal Rags from the Flylady and a microfiber dust mop. Love them all!! They clean everything in every room! They don’t just spread dirt around. The cloths actually pick the dirt up. Most of the time, I don’t need to add cleaner. I just use a wet cloth. My two favorite uses right now have to be the stove top and the microwave. With an ordinary cloth, I have to scrub and scrub that baked on food. The microfiber cloths require little scrubbing with the same types of messes. Its incredible!
Besides being great cleaning tools, these cloths are so practical and green! When we use these cloths, we are not buying, using and throwing away loads of paper towels and swiffers. We are saving money and landfill space.
I keep the microfiber cloths in all the bathrooms, the kitchen and the laundry room. I use them everywhere. Since buying mine, I have seen them in almost every store, even the dollar store. They come in various sizes and thicknesses. I use the thinner cloths for the windows and the thicker ones for the rest of the house. I bet they will be great this summer for washing the car and wiping down the patio furniture. Hope this tip helps you in your housekeeping duties!

Great tip Marci. I have a couple of them, but I avoid using them because of the way they feel–in winter, my dry hands tend to “catch” on the microfibers… However, I’ll give them another try (and just use plenty of lotion!) ; )
I’m a fan of microfiber cloths too.
Hmmm….cool! I’ll have to check them out!
