When the going gets busy…
March 30, 2009 by Marci
I keep going back to a blog post I read last week on Unclutter.com. The author said the following and it really stuck with me,
“When the going gets busy, the wise ones simplify … with a vengeance.”
How refreshing! There is actually someone who agrees with me that we don’t need to be better time-managers of the 50 million things we try to cram into our schedule. We just need to simplify our lives so that what is on our schedule is important and not too much for us to handle! Read this article and see what I mean. Does your life need to be simplified?

Yup, I read that one. It’s worth a good read.
Amen!! I
‘m in the process of simplifying. This year, I backed down on volunteer commitments (this can make you an unpopular person). I’ve backed down on scheduling the kids – listened to my kids needs and not the popular trends. As I spring clean my rooms, I’m simplifying the stuff I keep.
There comes a time when you have to stop doing what society “expects” from us and just do what is right for us and our families. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my family to be a reflection of society!
This is a great point. We do sometimes need to cram more stuff into our day, but not always. Sometimes we just need to make a conscious choice to do less stuff and let some things we think we need to do slide.
