Spring cleaning wrap up….sort of

As you know, my plan was to finish spring cleaning by the end of March by tackling this task bit by bit. It is April 2 and I am here to report that my spring cleaning is almost done. The old, “busy” me would be condemning myself for this failure to reach my goal. Luckily, I am over myself! All the main areas of the house are clean. Only three items are still on my list – the exterior of the windows, the pantry and my desk. I have been waiting for a great sunny day when my husband is home to do the windows. He does a way better job than I. (Did you know you can delegate spring cleaning?) As far as the pantry goes, I just need to get motivated. For some reason, I just keep putting that off. I need to empty it out, toss some stuff and organize what’s left. Maybe tomorrow…
That just leaves my desk. Well, I have let my daughter share my desk and her unfinished art projects are piled up on top of my stuff! We need to brainstorm and find a better system. When I figure it out, I’ll let you know.
So, I am not concerned that my spring cleaning list is not all checked off. The great majority is and, for that, I am pleased. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves a break. We have had friends over and we live here everyday. No one has said one word about the state of my windows or my pantry.

I just did the master bath (except for the bookshelves – who puts built in bookshelves in the master batH?). Next week, i’m onto the master bedroom. My schedule is not nearly as aggressive as yours and I have ten yards of mulch piled in the driveway waiting for me to attend.
Great idea to delegate the window job!
I agree with you completely. You should definitely delegate parts of spring cleaning! Who wants to keep all the fun to themselves?
