Are you as sick as I am of hearing how bad the economy is, how bad our country is, blah, blah, blah?! It’s enough to drive anyone into a personal depression! Even though I’m an information junkie, I find myself listening less and less to the main stream media and other negative sources. I’m not burying my head in the sand. I am just using common sense and not overloading my mind with all that junk. Things are bad, yes, but dwelling on it isn’t going to make it any better. I need to concentrate on what I can do to make my little corner of the world better. Concentrating on the solutions instead of the problems is how people overcome.
Do you feel the same as I do, or am I alone in this? I have a feeling there are lots more people out there who are just tired of the barrage of negative. Lets make the decision to stop listening to it. It is just mental clutter that serves no constructive purpose. Stop worrying about saving the entire world and take care of your part of it.
Even though things may look overwhelming from a worldly perspective, the Bible tells us in John 16:33 ” These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” That verse gives me such peace. It is comforting to know that even through all this turmoil, God is still God. He doesn’t want us to worry. He wants us to have peace. What better way to profess your faith than to be a perfect peace when the world is in chaos!
Don’t get caught up in the hysteria. Don’t let all the mental clutter run your life. Watch what and who you listen to. Use common sense. Take care of your little part of the world.
