Me Monday

My ususal Monday post is a Menu Plan Monday.  This week , I am changing it up.  I made a menu plan last night, but it didn’t really excite me today when I got to the grocery store.   So, I didn’t post it this week.   Instead, I’m posting a Me Monday!

My routine most Mondays is to get the groceries,do the laundry and straighten up the weekend clutter.   Today, I took a day for me.  I did manage to get groceries – we gotta eat!  After that, it was all relaxation and fun.  I took my son to pre-school and then I was off to get a facial!  Yes, a facial.  It was an hour and a half of pure relaxation.  Not only was it a skin care treat, it included a fabulous foot, lower leg, shoulder, arm, hand and head massage!  I was jello when I left!  No stress or cares at all when I left.

After the facial, I picked up the kids and a babysitter from school.  We stopped for a surprise ice cream cone on the way home.  Yum!!!!  I took the kids home and went to softball practice.  Yes, softball practice.  Hey!  It’s my Me Monday!!!  I coach girls fastpitch softball.  Actually, I am the pitching coach.  I really enjoy it.  It’s awesome to see pitchers progress and improve.

I took the babysitter  home after practice.  She lives in a rural areas near a state park that I had never been to.  Since my 4 year old was asleep and really needed a nap, my daughter and I decided to drive through the park to give my son some extra sleep time in the car.  We drove around the park and planned a future family outing of picnicing, hiking and horseback riding.  When we got home, we all helped make a quick dinner and the kids went to bed.

So, here we are.  I’m taking a little more time for myself before I spend time with my  husband.  Tomorrow, I will be back to cleaning the house and laundry, but today was a great day of refreshing and rejuvination.  Much needed.

Have you taken some time for yourself lately?  Do you need to?  What do you do to recharge your batteries?

I’m glad to hear that you took some time for yourself! I have me moments – a Christian book club that meets every other week, friends that I meet once a month or so for breakfast, the occassional mani-pedi with a friend. Lately, I’ve been stealing time away to complete the Twilight books. We all need to recharge.

Miko’s Girl- I like the idea of getting together with friends for breakfast. Sounds like something I should start.

You know, I REALLY need to do something like this! My excuse is always that there is no time, but that’s just not true. I could make time.

On Wednesday mornings, right after I drop my son off at preschool, I drop my daughter off at my mom’s house. They have their “Wednesday morning” together. I have 9 am to 11:45 (when I go pick up my son) to myself. . . I usually spend the time cleaning, doing laundry, ERRANDS!, or working on my blog — maybe tomorrow I’ll use it for ME.

    Thanks for the reminder.

I actually have received that kind of time today! My good friend has my 3 year old today just to give me a day to “breathe”! Although, not accomplishing much but relaxing and not having to watch dinosaur movies! That kind of time is always needed! Love your Me Monday! ;)

  4. Hehe, I love it! Great mamas/minds must think alike ;) So glad you took some time for you yesterday!
