Two free days!!!

June 2, 2009 by

I have the next two days to do with what I please.  The kids are at my parents getting spoiled, so I have no distractions until my husband gets home tonight.  So, what am I going to do with this precious time?  Well, I made a list – of course. :) Actually, I made a couple lists. The first list got to be a bit overwhelming.  I would have needed more than two days to accomplish it all and then I would have needed a day of rest to recoup orate.   After re prioritizing and coming to my senses, I made this list.

  • Clean the house. I usually don’t so this in one day. I spread it out over the entire week so that, for the most part, the house is clean enough for company anytime. The past week or so has been a bit crazy, so I have fallen behind. So, today, I will go thru the house room by room and clean up – not deep clean – no time for that. Just picked up and vacuumed.
  • Go for a walk. The weather is great! I have been trying my best to eat better and get some exercise in daily. Today, I will walk.
  • Organize my pictures on my computer and disks and flash drives. I have years worth of pictures stored in various places. I want to organize them so I can download them to an online source and print them into books and make back up disks.
  • Fertilize my plants. They are in the ground and look great. I just forget the fertizling sometimes.
  • Shopping. Very important. Big sale on Wednesday. Need a few items to get through summer.
  • Pay bills. My husband pays most of the bill. There are just a few that I manage. I need to take care of them…today!!
  • Make a summer chore and routine list for the kids. I want to get them into a routine as soon as possible. We have routines for the school year, but they aren’t what is needed for the summertime.

So, there is my plan for the next two days.  The key to this list is that it is totally do-able.  My first list was overwhelming.  I will knock out this list easily and then find something fun to do with the extra time….like take a nap!!!

What would you do if you had two free days with no kids?  Work or play or mix it up?

I’m so impressed. I’ve never been a list maker and maybe that’s why nothing ever gets done! You go girl…

Two whole days without kids?!?!!? After someone picks me up after I pass out from being told about it, I would mix it up. Doubtful there would be a list so I wouldn’t get as much done as you. Maybe I need to start making a list of what I need to get done around here? I’m going to work on that, you’ve inspired me!! My sister (she LOVES making a list) thanks you :)

Chele- I’m still working on that schedule. I’ll probably blog about that this afternoon or tomorrow.

Erika- I could not make it without my lists! Nothing would ever get done! I would just wander around the house aimlessly and probably just opt for a nap. :)
