Edit, Add, Appreciate – June 21, 2009
June 22, 2009 by Marci

My blog friend Kirwin at Gracefully Creative has a weekly feature called “Edit, Add, Appreciate” that I have always found interesting, but something that I really needed to take the time to think about. The whole idea is to get yourself to examine where you are in life and what is important to you (kind of the same theme as my entire blog!!!) and then edit out what isn’t consistent with who you are and where you are going. Then, find something you would like to add to your life that would make your life better and think of something in your life that you need to stop and appreciate.
So, I sat down tonight and gave this some thought. I thought about my goals for my family and myself. Then, I thought about my daily routine. The big question for me was “do my activities throughout the day help me achieve my goals?” That’s what helped me determine what I needed to get rid of and what I needed to start doing more of. Here’s what I feel I need to edit, add and appreciate right now.
Edit – Spend less time online…be more efficient with my time
Add- More quality time with my kids and my husband
Appreciate – The way my kids love me
This was a great exercise for me. It really made me stop and take inventory of what I spend my time and energy on. Why didn’t I do it sooner?!
What can you edit, add and appreciate in your life?

Marci,
I’m so glad you joined this week! I love your goals for Edit, Add, Appreciate — I can truly agree with editing my time spent online. I’m trying to balance it to get what I need done, but not waste time “surfing”.
I’m still thinking about our joint-challenge… ; )
Wow, what a great idea! I’m going to give this a try too
