Menu Plan Monday – June 29, 2009
June 29, 2009 by Marci

I have made a general weekly menu for my family for years. Why? Because I don’t like wandering around a grocery store aimless for hours on end and then going home with a cart full of stuff with nothing to eat for dinner. Then, there’s that feeling at 5 o’clock when I am standing in front of the refrigerator praying for a meal to suddenlly appear. I don’t like that either. Making a menu, even a general one, is a big time, money and sanity saver.
My menus are usually for dinner. We make do with leftovers for lunches and breakfasts are the same old choices: toast, cereal, waffles, bagels and the occasional pancakes. Gayle at The Grocery Cart Challenge has inspired me. She always has yummy breakfast menus posted on Meal Plan Monday. This week, I’m going to try and do the same. Here’s our menu for the week!
Dinners
- Calzones, salad
- Grilled Portobello Quesadillas, grilled veggies
- Pioneer Woman’s Marinated Flank Steak, Bok Choy Salad
- Homemade Chicken and Noodles
- Alfredo Sauce with Pasta, salad
- Leftovers
Note: We are eating lots of salads these days. We get great boxes of veggies from our local CSA and lately they have been full of the most luscious greens. There is such a variety that we never get bored. We try different store bought and homemade dressings and various toppings.
Breakfasts
- Breakfast sandwiches
- Breakfast bread pudding
- Pancakes
- Quiche
There you have it! This week’s menu plan. What are you having for dinner this week? Need some more ideas? Check out Menu Plan Monday at I’m An Organizing Junkie.

I really need to get back on this… I have slacked for a few weeks and I can definitely tell the difference! I’m off to do my menu….
Looks great! Isn’t CSA produce the best? I love being forced to come up with new stuff. It’s fun.
