Menu Plan Monday – July 6, 2009
July 6, 2009 by Marci

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. We sure did. The whole last week was full of haircuts, neighborhood kids, house cleaning, church, bike rides, house guests, cookouts, softball games, car trouble and fireworks. Needless to say, my meal plan when out the window! When I did actually get to the store, it was just to by ingredients for our cookouts. The rest of the time, we made due out of the pantry and we still ate pretty well. One evening, I whipped up a baked rotini with italian sauasage that was really good – and the leftovers weren’t bad either. There were a few leftover chicken breasts in the freezer, so I poured on a teriyaki marinade out of a bottle and grilled them for dinner another night. Monday was just a totally lazy day and I was without a car all day, so my husband took us out to eat. Gotta love that!
Last week’s menu plan was not a complete failure. I posted a breakfast menu for the first time in hopes of breaking out of our breakfast rut. We really enjoyed the new variety. The only thing I didn’t make was the breakfast bread pudding. I want to make that this week. My problem with that recipe is that is has to bake a whole hour. I guess I could get up a little earlier…..
So, here is my meal plan for this week. It’s pretty much the same as last week! I’m just making the meals I didn’t get to last week. This week shouldn’t hold so many distractions, but you never know!
- Grilled Portobello Quesadillas, grilled veggies
- Pioneer Woman’s Marinated Flank Steak, Bok Choy Salad
- Homemade Chicken and Noodles
- Alfredo Sauce with Pasta, salad
- Tacos and taco salad
- Leftovers
Breakfasts
- Breakfast bread pudding
- Pancakes
- fruit and yogurt parfaits
- blueberry muffins

Next week I will do this!! I know I can, I know I can…ha-ha!
I actually did this, this week. Of course, my mom is staying with me and we needed a grocery store list. BUT I got to see first hand how helpful making a list can be. Maybe I’ll branch out and start doing it on my own?!?!
