Simplifying Life Links

August 6, 2009 by

When I first started Overcoming Busy, I thought that I was so alone in my quest for simplifying life.  I would talk about it among friends or at mom’s group and I would hear a lot of “That would be nice, but I just have to much I have to do.” or “I like to keep my kids busy in 17 activities.  They behave much better at home that way.”  (probably because they are never there!!!)  To my surprise and delight, I have found a whole community of women striving for the same thing – simple, unbusy,  uncomplicated, peaceful lives.

We are all in various stages of our quest.  Some mom’s are just finding the peace that comes from planning a weeks worth of meals. Others are turning off the TV or trying to not spend any extra $$ for an entire month.  It is so awesome to get encouragement from these great women.  We can simplify our lives.  We can get the “busy” out of our lives.

I wanted to share with you two blog posts that have really touched me this week.  They are both about simplifying life and getting down to what really matters.  Enjoy!

I read both of those the past 24 hours and they both are great! I need some of that inspiration this week. Being busy is not fun and I have been praying about it since I “met” you! :)

  2. Great posts! I’m already a big fan of chatting at the sky and liked the new find of Notsofastbook. I find the same as you that the people I work or socialize with are moving at break neck speed. Many times I have asked people how they work full-time and take care of everything. It seems that people just expect to be busy and slowing down is not an option.
