Start Overcoming Busy Right Now – The Holiday Edition 1

Over the past month or so, our series “Start Overcoming Busy Right Now” has looked at ways to immediately help get the busy out of our lives any day of the year. We have talked about things like making a date with our spouse, procrastination, and the 15-minute project. Today, I am in the holiday mood. Thanksgiving is less than a week away and Christmas is right around the corner.
Our Christmas decorations go up the weekend after Thanksgiving, but there is a Christmas preparation that I can do right now to get ready for the holidays. I can get my Christmas cards ready to go. I like sending Christmas cards and I love receiving them. Christmas cards are the only correspondence I get from some friends and family. It is so nice to see pictures of how children have changed over the past year. I look forward to the little personal notes some people add to their cards.
As much as I love Christmas cards, there is nothing more stressful than trying carve out a block of time in the midst of the holiday season to address and mail them out. That’s why I get them ready the week before Thanksgiving and then send them out the week after. Addressing a few each day makes the task less stressful.
So, what can you do right now to overcome busy? If you haven’t bought your cards, order them right now or put them on your errand list. If you have got them, start addressing them. Get them out and out of your way! Mandi at Organizing Your Way has some great Christmas card tips to help you!

Thanks for the link, Marci! My cards are all addressed, and I just need to pick up my pictures and stuff them…it feels so good to have that out of the way before the season is in full swing (especially since I have baby announcements to include, LOL!).
