Savor Your Thanksgiving
November 25, 2009 by Marci

I had several possible posts ready for today, but none seemed to fit my mood. The kids and I spent the morning baking pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow with my family. It made me think of the reason Overcoming Busy came to be. I wanted to share the idea that life goes by fast enough. If you don’t slow down, you’ll miss it. This morning, I could have been overcome by perfectionism and the clock and taken the pie baking over myself. Instead, I chose to enjoy the opportunity to spend some time with my kids and brag on their accomplishment (no matter how messy!). I’ll remember these baking days fondly for years.
As you spend Thanksgiving with your family and friends this week, slow down and enjoy it. Take time to notice the laughter of children, the smile of grandparents, the taste of mom’s dressing. Savor each moment. They are fleeting. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and be truly grateful.

Thanks for the reminder!
happy thanksgiving to you! my son broke my laptop by pounding on the keyboard, so I am sequestered in the basement on the desktop for a moment before the little bodies wake. Just wanted to wish you a happy holiday!
