Last Minute Christmas Gifts
December 17, 2009 by Marci

The bulk of my Christmas shopping is finished. I just have a few little items to pick up…and I can’t decide if I should take back the boots I already bought my daughter and get the cute ones she tried on last night! Anyway….the gifts that always sneak up on me are the ones for people outside my family – preschool teachers, hairdressers, postal carriers, neighbors, friends, co-workers…. While I don’t usually go shopping for each individually, I like to get them a little something to show my appreciation.
In the past, I have really struggled in this area. I have done the homemade cookies, but I wanted something more original. This year, my mother-in-law came for a visit and taught my daughter how to make her famous caramels. They are fabulous! So, I am giving little bags of homemade caramels this year tied up with pretty ribbon.
This morning, I ran across these ideas on Organized Home for homemade treats that would make great gifts for those special people. I really like the Snowman Soup and the Chocolate Coffee Spoons! I’ll have to file these ideas for next year.
What small, last minute Christmas gift ideas do you have?

This year I’m making mini-loaves of pumpkin bread. Each batch makes 13 loaves and they fit right into the treat bags that you can buy at Walmart or any hobby store. All you need is a little ribbon and a gift tag!
mmm, I looove caramels!! This year, we gave the teachers and neighbors a cd full of our favorite Christmas tunes.
