It’s A New Month – Goal Gathering Monday

goal gathering

It’s month number two of Goal Gathering Monday!  Boy, did I need month number one!  I am happy to report that last month I did really well on sticking to my main goal and creating other goals to support it.  It was a pretty successful month.  Let’s pray this month is holds much of the same.  Over this past month, I discovered how important having a support system and someone to be accountable to was.  Just making the commitment to post my progress and link up to Goal Gathering Monday at The Bona Fide Life was huge!  I didn’t want to report that I’m a big slacker, so I had no choice but to work on my goals.  As part of GGM, Chele at The Bona Fide Life set up a chat last Friday afternoon at The Bona Fide Life Network to report how we did over the past month and to offer encouragement to each other.  If you missed it, you missed it!  I had a great chat and feel so good and inspired to head into this month with confidence.  TIP:  If Chele is having another chat, don’t miss it!!

Last month, I chose to tackle some healthy lifestyle goals – more exercise, more fruits and veggies, less processed junk.  I wanted to get those under control so that my body and mind could be in better sync to the bigger goals I have ahead.  I feel great, so bring it on!

This month, along with keeping up the healthy lifestyle changes I made, I have a couple more goals to work on.

  • Launch new blog layout – I have been working on this for months.  I just can’t make a decision on colors and themes.  But, now I have given myself the deadline of February 28th!  (Gretchen, I think I’m almost ready!  Hope you have time to help!!)
  • Get to bed by 10pm – If I can pull this off, it would be life-changing!!  I need the sleep to be able to get out of bed before the kids so I can get my stuff done before they get up!  I usually manage it, but it’s not pretty.  I stay up way too late!
  • Cut down my online time – Ouch!  I said it!  I have to do it!  Efficiency needs to be the name of the game here.  I need to get online, get the info or read what I went online for and get off.  I’m not sure if I am going to use a timer or set times of the day that I can’t be online.  This part needs some more thought.  I’ll report what I come up with next week.

What about you?  Have any goals for February?  Have any New Year’s Resolutions that still need to be kick-started?  Tell me about them.

We did have a GREAT chat! :)

Your goals sound great! See this time we have one that is the same, the blog layout! We can do it!!!
As for the bedtime, I’m good about going to bed at a decent time for the most part. It’s just I like the sleep so much that I hit that snooze, over and over again! lol
And the time online. Is a big one for me, I can’t wait to see what you come up with. It might help me! :)

Your goals hit close to home. I too need to get to bed earlier than I usually do and I need to find a way to contain my online time. Looking forward to hearing your ideas for accomplishing those goals!

I can’t wait to see the new layout! I love getting a fresh look (on a site or say, hair color… heehee).
I’m really working on making my online time efficient too. It’s so TOUGH! What’s worked for me lately is limiting my “blog browsing” to the early morning before my kids get up, and then trying to have one or two ‘focused’ times to actually write etc during the day when they’re occupied/napping. sometimes i end up with stuff to finish up or blogs i want to read and spend time in the evening if we’re not doing family stuff then. it’s always a struggle though and i’m really trying to get a handle on it. endless opportunities! ACK! i’d love to hear the solutions you come up with.

  4. Hey – I’m in! I’ve been catching up from the Nashville trip, but I think I have all my ducks in a row now. Holler.
