Start Overcoming Busy Right Now – Bring Out The Best In Each Other
February 19, 2010 by Marci

I don’t know about you, but our family doesn’t do well when we are constantly on the go. Things get forgotten. We all get tired. Nerves get frazzled. Kids get cranky. Parents get cranky. Busy does not bring out the best in us. That statement got me thinking. What does bring out the best in us? Is there a certain activity, a certain amount of downtime, the right amount of sleep?
The truth is there is no magic formula for happiness and joy. But, here are some things that I have noticed work pretty well.
Laughter
Smiles
Tickles
Kind words
Surprise trips to Dairy Queen
Hugs
Cuddles
Bedtime stories
Bedtime chats
Doing things for each other
Pajama days
Time
Just about anything you can’t do with a busy schedule
What brings out the best in your family?

Ah…all of those things sound wonderful. I was just thinking how a good cuddle with my kids is such a stress relief. It can completely turn these around when we’re having a yucky day. And a little ice cream doesn’t hurt either.
Lots and lots of down time
We are such home bodies that we’ve now made a “rule” – no more than two “outings” every weekend.
So that’s typically church plus one other. If we can get by with just church, even better LOL
