Seeing The Everyday – Magazine Review
August 4, 2010 by Marci
In our quest to overcome busy, we not only look for tools and methods to get the clutter and junk out of our lives. We see the inspiration to make it happen. We need to remember our “why”. Even thought the “whys” are all around us, it’s sometimes hard to see them through all the housework, diapers and bills. It is helpful to slow down and be reminded of what is really important and why it is so important to overcome busy.
For me, these reminders often come from reading something or listening to others tell about those special moments in life that they weren’t too busy to miss. Recently, I found a new source of this type of inspiration. My husband ran across a fabulous publication that was new to us – Seeing The Everyday. He brought it home to me last week and said “You have to read this!”

Seeing The Everyday is a quarterly publication dedicated “to revealing the effect and importance of the seemingly small moments of life–what fathers and mothers do every day does make the difference.” (from their facebook page) It is a refreshing, ad-free collection of writings about these everyday moments that shape our lives – often without us ever realizing it. It reaffirms the importance of the family and home in shaping lives. As my husband and I read it, the words “clean, simple, uncluttered, inspiring, soothing and ahhh” came to mind. Pretty much how we strive for our lives to be described.
Grab a copy for yourself at your favorite magazine stand or on their home page. It is perfect summertime reading. Perfect anytime reading. Reading that won’t drag you down or stress you out. Reading that will inspire you and leave you thankful and more appreciative for those everyday moments in your life.

This site is so interesting. I am reading more slowly, but I think that living and appreciating in the everyday is something I need to do a little more. Thanks for the reminder. Your reminders are so helpful Marci!
Hi Marci,
Where did you find this magazine? I looked at Border’s but could not find it.
Thanks!
Hi, Marci!
Someone saw that magazine and thought of me–she actually sent me a copy, and I sure did love it. I think they do a good job of demonstrating the power of story, even short ones, to encourage one another.
As each person shared from his or her life, I found like-minded people. I don’t know if we share core spiritual beliefs, but we certainly share values, regardless of what inspires those values.
I think I have an older issue.
I’d like to support their efforts and learn more about them, so now I’m going to poke around their website–thanks for the link (and review!).
