The Oak Inside The Acorn Book Review and Giveaway

April 29, 2011 by

When choosing books for my kids, I always try and choose books that have meaning without a lot of fluff. Sure, fluff is fun, but you can’t grow on a steady diet of fluff. I want books that entertain my kids, yet teach them something important. Those books are not always easy to find. That’s why I like Tommy Nelson books.

Since reviewing Tommy Nelson books, they have consistently sent me quality books that my kids love and that feed their spirits. “The Oak Inside The Acorn” is no different. This book, written by master story teller Max Lucado, is the kind that you want to read when  you are curled up with the family on the couch or favorite chair, or in our case, curled up in Mama and Daddy’s bed.

This book is beautiful – in words and in images. The art work perfectly complements the touching story of Little Acorn who is afraid to let go of Mother Oak and her comfort and protection. The world looks big and scary to such a little guy. As our daughter read this story to us, I could see her emotions building as she read the story and grasped the meaning. Mother Oak’s words to Little Acorn “Within you is a great oak. Just be the tree God made you to be” stirred something inside of all of us.

This is a fabulous book to read with your whole family. I’m so anxious for you to get your hands on a copy! So, I’m happy to tell you that our friends at Tommy Nelson  are giving a copy of “The Oak Inside The Acorn” to one Overcoming Busy reader!
