Homeschool Planner Giveaway

##########THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED#############

This is our 3rd year of homeschooling. I’d like to think we get a little better at it each year. We learn from our triumphs and mistakes. We fine tune things to make them work better for us. Homeschooling in itself is a learning process.

One homeschool essential that I have been fine tuning over the past couple years is my lesson planner. The first year, I used a traditional lesson planner from the local school supply store. This worked fine, but I needed some extra room. I found myself keeping a separate 3 ring binder for a calendar, menu planner and keeping notes. Last year, I used a mix-match set of planner pages that printed offline and put them all together in a 3 ring binder. That worked better, but my lesson plans looked messy by the time I was done writing in the boxes and my pages didn’t really go together or weren’t exactly homeschool friendly.

This year, I found a great printable planner set that takes the positives from my earlier planner versions and puts them together. The Homeschool Weekly Planner, created by Jolanthe at Homeschool Creations, is created specifically for the homeschool family. It covers everything from weekly lesson plans to attendance charts to evaluations to menu planning. All pages are editable so you can customize the pages. No more messy planner pages!!

My favorite part is seeing m children learn and retain what they are learning! I also enjoy just being with them!

    • Sue Cushman says:

I guess my favorite part is seeing how uniquely gifted my children are and trying to help them be all that God has created them to be. Lots of hard work involved in this.

Maybe if I win this free planner, I’ll use it. I know I haven’t used any of the ones I’ve spent money on.

PS: My next favorite part happens at Forestwood Street. :)

      ~Sue

  2. Karen Partin says:

My favorite part is being with them each day and seeing them enjoy learning new things.

  3. Bryn says:

The best part of educating at home is watching my boys learn together, help each other and love one another as friends and more. They wouldn’t get that quality time together each day if they were apart all day. It’s an adventure, for sure!

  4. Tracee says:

I would use this in our new homeschooling adventures!! We are just starting this year with preschool and I am lost! This sure would help direct my path :)

  5. I am blessed to homeschool my children and direct them through Biblical teachings. I enjoy being with them to explore the outdoors and many other wonderful places. My children also love to learn about homemaking skills, which will greatly help them later in life. You have put together some really great material.

  6. Michelle says:

Another first timer for my 9 and 10 year olds! I am so excited to learn everything along with them! Lord knows that I didn’t pay TOO much attention when I was at public school! ;) Looking forward to wonderful adventures!!

  7. Adrienne says:

Oh I need this. I am just starting to homeschool. One of the things I am looking forward to is teaching the Bible to her and being able to work at our own pace and schedule.

  8. Anne says:

My favorite part of homeschooling is watching my children grow to know and embrace the gifts that God gave them, and see the joy in their lives because of it!

  9. MIchele Gray says:

I love the mornings! I love spending the time, sitting in the recliner, or laying across the bed, talking about what we are going to do or learn today.

  10. My favorite part of homeschooling is seeing my children become friends, instead of just siblings. This is my second year homeschooling, and I have a first grader and kindergartener, as well as a 3 year old. Life is hectic, to say the least!

  11. Korah Smith says:

My favorite part of homeschooling is seeing my son learn something new!! watching him fall in love with learing because he can learn his way at his own pace…

  12. Marie says:

My favorite part of homeschooling is getting to watch the excitement in my kids faces as they learn new things. They LOVE homeschooling and I would LOVE to have this planner to help me become more organized.

  15. Sandra Libby says:

This will be our 2nd year of homeschooling and my favorite part is seeing that “light bulb” go off when something we have been learning clicks. It’s so exciting to watch the process and see my son get excited about learning something new.

  16. Sabrina says:

This will be our first year homeschooling; I will take all the help I can get. My oldest starts Kindergarten this year. (Her younger sisters are 2 & 7 months). I’m looking forward to the new adventure. I know my middle girl will also pick up on the lessons, even though she’s not being directly taught.

  17. Kim says:

This is our first year too. I’m looking forward to spelling test over breakfast.

  18. Michelle says:

This will be our seventh year to homeschool. I enjoy just being with my children. I will be sad, when they graduate and move on.

  19. Terry Felton says:

I am a dad, but I wanted to comment because my wife homeschools our 6 year old while taking care of our other 3 kids ages 4 and under. I love seeing her hard work and watching when our son ‘gets it’. I just want to brag on her to any who will read this blog.

    • Sally says:

We are on our 3rd year of HS and we haven’t had anything this organized. I LOVE the idea that we can edit this for our own personal needs!

  21. LaVonne says:

I am doing Pre-K this year and we love it. It is a great way for me to interact with my daughter and she loves learning. We are having a lot of fun and we do her books and crafts on our own time. That is very nice.

  22. Angela W. says:

My favorite part of homeschooling is being with my three children. I get to be the one that enjoys each of their “a-ha!” moments when they really “get it.” It is wonderful!

  23. Kristy says:

This is our first year also! So far, my favorite part has been the “spirit” that’s been created within our family and homeschool. For instance, before when they were in public school, they would come home and each go their own way and not interact as much. Now, we have become a team in almost everything. We learn together, live together, play together, etc. Many times now I will hear one or both of them say something along the lines of “but I want to do it together, as a team”. It’s also amazing to see all of our relationships with one another change and grow in different ways that I just don’t think would happen if they were still in public school due to time restraints. It’s a beautiful thing to see and be a part of on so many levels!

  24. domestic diva says:

My favorite part? I love spending time with my son.

  25. Stephanie Gerken says:

My favorite part of homeschooling is watching in wonder as the Lord’s hope-filled plan for each one of our six children is revealed. It is such a glorious honor to see them grow closer to the Lord and to one another. Praise Him for showing us “His” way (Deut. 6:4-9): “”Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

  26. Nichol Davey says:

My favorite part of homeschooling is “Living Life Together”! It is a joy to watch my kids honor and desire God. This is our 4th year and we have 4 children.

  27. Shaunna Smith says:

Looks like I will be homeschooling next year so looking for all the helps I can get. :)

  28. Katherine A says:

My favourite part of homeschooling is my kids wide eyed wonder when they learn something new, that they had never thought about and are truly amazed.

  29. [...] to all who entered the Weekly Homeschool Planner giveaway last [...]

  30. Heather says:

My fav part of hs is being able to protect my kids. If they are somewhere else for 90% of their time I cannot do that. :) To me childhood is for learning with all the happiness and joy and wonder that can be squeezed in to that short time in life. :)

  31. [...] is the planner I use and love. You can read my review HERE. (However, the giveaway is closed.) It is downloadable and editable with lots of planning option [...]

  32. Hmm it looks like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for rookie blog writers? I’d really appreciate it.
