Homemade Eye Make-Up Remover

February 22, 2012 by

I saw this idea for homemade eye make-up remover on Pinterest a couple weeks ago.

It got me thinking. Why am I spending a bunch of money on eye make-up remover if I can make it at home – cheap?

So, I went to the dollar store and got my supplies: baby oil and baby shampoo. I followed the instructions from my Pinterest link and mixed up a batch of eye make-up remover. Then, it was time to test. I have to admit, there was a moment right before I wiped my eyelids with this concoction that I hoped it wouldn’t blind me!

It didn’t blind me and actually worked great! I put my homemade eye make-up remover in the old store bought eye make-up remover bottle. I’ve been using it for over a week and don’t even think about it being homemade. It is amazing to think that for $2 I can make lots and lots of bottles of this stuff. I shutter to think how much money I’ve spent before on eye make-up remover in the past!

Have you found any other easy fixes on Pinterest?

  1. Thank you for sharing! I’m almost out and ready to buy some. I love the Mary Kay kind, but have been using a cheaper version lately, and it leaves my eyes feeling oily.
Does this homemade version do that?

  2. Cathy says:

Does this work for waterproof mascara too?
