Baked Mostacolli

This is a family favorite my mom used to make.  My family still loves it.  It is also a great dish to take to a friend who has just had a baby or just needs a meal.  A salad and bread round out this easy meal.

  • 1 pound mostacolli or penne noodles
  • 1 large jar store bought or 1 quart homemade tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 pound hamburger or Italian sausage, browned
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small can sliced black olives
  • 1 – 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Cook noodles according to the package directions and drain.  Mix pasta with sauce, mushrooms, black olives, meat, Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese.  Pour mix into 13 X 9 baking dish.  Sprinkle top with mozzarella cheese.  Cover with foil and bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until bubbly.  Remove foil and bake another 5 -7 minutes.

—-I sometimes use more sauce or add green peppers or onions.
